a lump in my throat....

Hi all,

so I'm very discouraged about news that I received today.  I didn't have the heart to write it up myself so here's the gist of it...  after all the incredible hurry, over nights, drives to albany, syracuse and all the pressure to get the dossier mailed ASAP to avoid transfer this is what we learn of today.... and to top it all off we still don't know if he is in the baby house or not, and he could still be transferred.  Please say some prayers....  I was so convinced we would be taking our first trip by mid april.... not anymore it appears....

Hi Liz,
I just wanted to update you on the status of your dossier. **** submitted your CSP documents requesting permission to submit a dossier for Shea as a child with special needs. When the SDA reviewed it, they granted permission for the dossier to be submitted but told him that he would need to wait to submit the dossier in April because Shea's release date for international adoption is in May (he was registered for adoption in March 2010 and has to wait 14 months for international adoption). If you go to **** before then for your SDA appointment, they will not be able to give you Shea's file. So, your dossier will be submitted on April 14th (the SDA is not accepting dossiers on April 7th, so the 14th is the first Thursday in April that it can be submitted). **** said that you should plan to travel in May, based on the current wait between submission and appointments and the fact that Shea will be available in May. But, they obviously won't have a concrete date for travel until after the dossier is submitted.

**** did not know that Shea was not already cleared for international adoption and neither did **** until he submitted the CSP. The orphanage directors only tell **** that the children have been registered. So, you will be delayed about a month in order to get Shea's file. But, your dossier has been completely translated and is ready to be submitted on April 14th....

the world around us....

please pray for carrington.... remember the family that went to adopt regan from the mental institution? (regan used to be in shea's baby house) they also adopted carrington who is from shea's baby house, but a different "grouppa".  They knew carrington was fighting to hold on and very medically frail...and this was confirmed as she was admitted to the hospital here in the US as soon as she came home...  Thank God Shea is seeming so healthy and happy from what we've heard...but it gives me shivers to think of what would have happened to carrington if she had been without a family for even another few weeks, or maybe days...

also baby Jason S ( a new brother of one of simon's classmates) survived his heart surgery yesterday and reached his 26 wk gestation mark birthday!  Keep praying!!!

and another significant one... Please pray for Molly.  She is a youth group member of Dan's.  She is in the PICU in very very serious condition due to an infection which has left her unresponsive....dan has been with the youth group all night and is still there.... please pray for miracles.

Golden Ticket! and more

Our long awaited document from immigration arrived today.  This is the last piece of the dossier.  It was scanned to our incountry team, and we are likely to get approval on it tuesday or wednesday.  This means our dossier should be in the mail by the middle of this week!  The actual I 171 will come in about 2 weeks, but we hand carry this to country.

Typical time frames are that it takes 2-3 wks from dossier submission to being granted a travel date, the SDA appnt is usually 2-4 wks from the time you receive your travel date.....SO that means once we mail our dossier sometime this week we should be traveling on our first trip in 4-7 weeks.  WOW!

Also good news... as of friday the 25th there was another Shea spotting, he has not yet been transferred.

A BIG prayer request on my mind....Simon's MRI is this week wednesday at 9:45 am...we need prayer about results....prayer about protection during sedation....and prayer about treatments which may or may not be needed and the perfect timing of those treatments and traveling for Shea.

It looks like God has answered prayers in regards to Dan's schedule.... it would have been very difficult for Dan to travel out of country in March due to a heavy travel work schedule....which is bringing in money towards bills and Shea of course....now it looks like that will all work out, since it is not likely we will travel in the month of March. (bittersweet)

(please pray for endurance for this mommy as he will be out of town so much in the next month!)

kisses for grandma!

the dossier

ALL of our documents are back from Albany!!!!...

Have to go through all of them and do the final proof on the apostilles, then we wait.

The very last thing we need in regards to paperwork....is the I 171 from immigration.  It could be here tomorrow, it could be 2 weeks from now....no way to know at this time.

Once that arrives we will use Fed Ex and send it all over (the dossier) to Shea's country along with the 500$ translation fee.  The first packet we sent there cost over 100$ and it had 14 documents.  This one has many more.... hopefully the rate won't go up too much!

Need to kick up the gear on the speed of our work down stairs....Shea will be home before we know it.  Our tile is now finished thanks to Mike H!  Thanks!!!

Had another OB appnt today.  The doc is trying to convince me to go with an induced labor so they can control the situation better in theory giving me an easier labor, hence less stress for my pacemaker to deal with.... hmmmm I'm not so sure.  I would rather just let nature take it's course in regards to timing (use the pain meds for sure).  From stories I've heard I'm not sure induced labors are easier?!  The doctor kept mentioning we could have it all done during the day so that things went smoothly....hmmmm I don't know about all of that.  Kind of ruins the element of surprise.  Will have to think on it and talk to my cardiologist.

No other major events today, normal hum drum... until later.
